Monday

On Monday I shared my 4 Favorite Podcasts plus the white linen blazer you NEED in your closet (it’s a steal at $75)!  Monday evening I hit up SoulCycle, and I needed it in a bad way.  It was nice to sweat out the weekend/week ahead stress!

Tuesday

Tuesday I shared what I packed for my trip to Italy!  I brought my Bigger Away Carry On bag plus my Herschel backpack, that’s it!  Check out the post to see everything I brought along for the trip.

Michael and I met a friend at one of our favorite D.C. spots for dinner on Tuesday night, Compass Rose.  If you’re in D.C. and haven’t been yet, put it on your list!  The atmosphere is always fun, the cocktails are delicious, and their food never disappoints!

Wednesday

If you’re an Instagram Story regular, you may have seen that Laura and I spent last Sunday at National Harbor.  I shared a recap of our day in Wednesday post!

Michael and I hoped on a plane on Wednesday and headed to Italy for a few days!  We flew from DCA to JFK to Venice.  Super easy overnight flight!

Thursday

Our friend Louise (who lives in Italy) picked us up at the airport on Thursday, and we headed straight to Prosecco Road, the region where, you guessed it, prosecco is produced!  We had lunch at a beautiful restaurant overlooking the vineyards (see the photo above), and then headed to a family run prosecco vineyard for a little tasting.  To say it was the perfect introduction to this region of Italy would be an understatement.

Thursday evening Louise and her husband Steven arranged for a chef to come over for a pasta making lesson.  It was amazing.  We learned how to make homemade pasta sauce and homemade pasta.  And then we ate what we made!

Weekend Plans

After spending the night in Sacile, Italy at Louise and Steven’s house, we’re all heading to Parma this afternoon.  We’ll be taking a bike tour of the city when we arrive and then we’re heading to Modena for the night.  We plan on exploring Modena and Bologna over the weekend before heading to Rome on Sunday evening.

Chase Sapphire Reserve // Michael has the Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card, and it comes with some pretty nice perks (check out this post for more info on the card).  One of the perks is the Priority Pass, which gets you and your guest(s) into a number of airport lounges around the world.  Michael and I had a 5+ hour layover at JFK airport on our way to Italy.  The Priority Pass came in so clutch!  We found a nice lounge (Wingtips) to hang out in for the majority of our layover.  There’s free WiFi, comfy chairs, complimentary snacks, alcoholic beverages, coffee, tea etc.  It was awesome!  I’m definitely pro-airport lounge after that visit!
