How to Spend a Day at National Harbor!

How to Spend a Day at National Harbor | Cobalt Chronicles | Washington, DC | Travel BloggerOn Sunday, Laura and I had a fun girls’ day out at National Harbor!  Whether you’re a D.C. local or visiting D.C. soon, National Harbor is a great little escape from the city!  It’s an easy 20 minute Uber/Lyft ride from downtown D.C. with plenty to do.  You can definitely make an entire day out of visiting National Harbor!

First on our agenda was shopping (no surprise there)!  While there’s tons of shopping at National Harbor including the high end shops at the MGM National Harbor casino and shops sprinkled around the Gaylord National Resort, we opted to hit up all of the amazing stores (and deals) at Tanger Outlets!

Tanger Outlets

I grew up shopping at Tanger Outlets.  There is one located in Terrell, TX, which isn’t far from my hometown of Shreveport, LA, and there’s also one in Foley, AL, which is close to where we vacationed every summer at the beach!

I love Tanger Outlets because they have great brands represented at all of their locations – Nike, J.Crew, Kate Spade, Under Armour, and Theory are all onsite at the National Harbor location!  And what’s even better to love is that all of these stores offer heavy discounts since they’re all outlet shops!

I scooped up a few new workout pieces perfect for my SoulCycle addiction at Nike and snagged a couple of my favorite skincare products from The Cosmetics Company Store (hello Origins and Bobbi Brown!).  We also popped in the Kate Spade store, which is beyyyyond.  They had so many amazing handbags and accessories, all at a great price!

Gaylord National // Relâche Spa

After shopping our hearts out, we caught a quick Uber across the way to the Gaylord National Resort.  The hotel is stunning!  It’s right on the water and has an great view of the Capital Wheel.  The floor to ceiling windows (stories upon stories tall), allow in so much natural light and provide for amazing views all around.

We made our way to the Relâche Spa where we were greeted by the friendliest staff and the most relaxing environment.  Laura and I both opted for signature Elemis facials.  I went with the Pro-Collagen Signature Facial (see their whole menu of services here!).  The facial was one of the best I’ve ever had.

All of the Elemis products were so luxurious.  I wanted to take the whole line home with me (which I could have done since all of the products the esthetician use are for sale too!).  My skin felt so soft and super hydrated afterwards.  Not only was the facial amazing, but the amenities at the Relâche Spa are top notch.

After our facials, Laura and I sat in one of the relaxing tea lounges (with champagne!) that overlooks the harbor and the Potomac River.  There’s also an on-site whirlpool, sauna, and steam room.  I’m definitely planning on taking advantage of those features on my next visit!

If you’re in the D.C. or visiting anytime soon, I highly recommend looking into spending a fun and relaxing day at National Harbor!  I’ll definitely be back soon!

Thank you to the Gaylord National Resort for providing spa services and to Tanger Outlets for providing gift cards to shop!  And thank YOU for supporting the brands that help make Cobalt Chronicles possible.  As always, all thoughts are my own.
