Week In Review

Happy Friday! Where did this week go?! I’ve spent the majority of my week head-down at my desk wrapping up all of my Contracts for Creatives projects prior to leaving town on Tuesday for Michael and I’s wedding! There were also a flurry of items my mom and I had to wrap up for the wedding itself. I’m planning on sharing a lot more wedding related posts with you over the next few months, one in particular on what to expect during the planning process – there’s such a mad dash at the end to tie up all the loose ends! Regardless, I know everything will be wonderful next weekend in the Bahamas!

Monday

On Monday I shared my favorite Amazon purchases from 2018! I took a glance back at the post and I used 7 of the 13 products this week alone! They’re all staples and great finds on Amazon!

I spent most of my day on Monday working from home and ended the day at SoulCycle!

Tuesday

On Tuesday morning I headed to Union Market for this month’s Tuesday’s Together meeting. First, if you’re in the DC area and haven’t been to Union Market yet, put it on your list! It’s such a cool warehouse-type space that has been transformed into a mecca for cool, hip, local restaurant stalls. There are even a few local shops to peruse too!

Second, if you’re a creative entrepreneur, check out Tuesday’s Together – it’s the local chapter arm of The Rising Tide Society. There are Tuesday’s Together chapters in cities all over the country. The meetings are free and they always cover an interesting business topic. It’s also a great way to meet other creative entrepreneurs in your city!

After the meeting, I had lunch with my friend Sophie who runs perhaps the coolest business in DC, Toastworthy, a pop-up airstream champagne bar. If you’re in the area and need a show stopping feature at an event, shower, or wedding, check her out!

I worked from home for the majority of the afternoon and then ended the day at SoulCycle!

Wednesday

On Wednesday I shared my travel recap from 2018. At the end of the year, I felt like 2018 wasn’t a big travel year for me, so I was shocked to see that I had actually visited 3 countries, 11 states, and 24 cities in the past year! Michael and I both love to travel so I’m sure there will be more travels ahead in 2019 – can’t wait to share them with you here!

I spent most of my day on Wednesday working from home. I try to batch my work days, so Wednesday is usually my “call” day – I try to schedule most of my calls for Cobalt Chronicles and Contracts for Creatives on the same day so I’m not jumping around on calls throughout the week. After a busy day at my desk, I hit up SoulCycle for a ride with one of my favorite instructors, Pauline!

Thursday

Thursday morning was filled with two great coffee dates. One with Meg Biram, who is a local blogger and artist. If you’ve been to Kith & Kin, you’ve likely noticed her mural on the wall behind the bar! Check out her art pieces for sale here!

One of my close friends that recently moved to Seattle from DC is in town this week. We grabbed tea and caught up for a bit. After spending the majority of the last two weeks working from home and not getting out too much, it was so nice to spend time with a familiar face!

After Comcast kindly decided to turn our WiFi back on after being out for the entire morning, I was able to work from home for the remainder of the day. If you follow along with me on Instagram Stories or Twitter, you know my disdain for Comcast. #theworst

Weekend Plans

It’s supposed to snow this weekend in DC! Fingers crossed for our first measurable amount of snowfall this season! I’m not a fan of cold weather, but if it’s going to be cold, let it snow! Follow along on Instagram Stories because you know the southerner in me is going to post any sign of the first snowflake! 😉

Along with watching the sky for falling white stuff, I’m planning on running a few more last-minute errands for the wedding, like picking up my favorite sunscreen and grabbing a few airplane snacks from Trader Joe’s. I’ll also be cheering on the Cowboys and the Saints in the playoffs! Fun fact – Michael and I’s family and friends are hardcore split on the Cowboys and Saints bandwagons – if they both win this weekend, they’ll play each other the weekend that we are all in the Bahamas for our wedding! I’m hoping for a showdown!

Favorite Things This Week

Isle of Paradise Self-Tanner // I’m sure you can tell, but I’m in full-on wedding prep mode this week. In an attempt to mask my pale-winter skin, I picked up a new self-tanner at Sephora. I’ve seen a lot of folks raving about the Isle of Paradise brand – it’s a clean, non-toxic self-tanning product company! I snagged the self-tanning water (it’s essentially a mist) at the beginning of the week and have been applying it post-shower everyday. It’s amazing! I’m really loving the results. It’s easy to apply, doesn’t turn your hands orange, and adds an even toned tan to your skin! For reference, I’ve been using the medium shade.

Territory Meal Delivery // Michael and I have been using Territory for meal deliveries for a while now, but this week they came in so clutch! In the midst of a busy work week and the fact that we’re trying to clean out our fridge before leaving town, it was so nice to have healthy (and delicious) prepared meals on hand for lunch and dinner this week! If you’re new to Territory, check them out here and use code COBALT for $50 off across your first two orders!

Beachy Things // I’ve gotten so many good, beachy pieces in over the past few weeks for the wedding and our honeymoon! I can’t wait to share them all with you soon, but here’s a little sneak peek … I’m obsessed with this Brixton hat, this fun straw bag, the cutest coverup that could easily pair with jean shorts and a tank too, this high-waisted swimsuit, this cute one-piece, and this adorable palm print dress! Bring on the warm weather!

Have a wonderful weekend!
