I think everyone can agree that this entire week should have been treated as a holiday … the Wednesday 4th of July really threw me for a loop!  Michael and I were in Frisco, Colorado from last Friday until the 4th.  I’ll have a full recap of our trip next week, but you’ll get a bit of a taste in today’s post!  Let’s jump into today’s week in review!

Monday

On Monday here on the blog, I shared five 4th of July sales worth shopping.  A few of the sales are actually still happening, and the Anthropologie sale is actually even better today – 40% extra off all sale items!

In Colorado, we spent most of the day on Monday in Vail, CO.  Vail is about 30 minutes from Frisco, where we were staying.  It was by far the nicest ski town we visited while out west!

Tuesday

On Tuesday I shared a new post on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (it starts next week!).  The post includes a $400 Nordstrom gift card giveaway!  The winner will be announced right in time for you to shop the sale!  Be sure to head to the post to enter to win!

Tuesday was our last day in Colorado.  This was by far our most chill day out of the entire trip.  We had a leisurely breakfast at a spot on main street in Frisco and wandered around town for a bit checking out all of the eclectic shops.

Wednesday

I skipped posting on Wednesday as I figured you had better things to do on the 4th than read this blog.  😉  Michael and I spent the majority of the day flying back to D.C.  We didn’t do much in terms of celebrating the 4th, but it’s always fun to be in D.C. on this particular holiday.  We walked to grab dinner and everyone was out and about heading to see the large fireworks display on the National Mall.

Thursday

Thursday was a catch up day.  I spent most of the day responding to emails, cleaning my apartment, and running necessary errands like hitting up the grocery store.  From my email stream alone, it looked like a lot of people took the day off, perhaps a long holiday weekend post 4th of July!

Weekend Plans

Michael and I have a friend visiting from New York this weekend so I’m sure we’ll do something fun tonight – perhaps Jazz in the Garden if the weather cooperates!  Besides that, I have several big ticket items for my contracts business to check off of my to-do list over the weekend.  My new website is ALMOST ready to launch (yay!) – I have a handful of backend tasks I need to complete before it (hopefully) launches next week!

Favorite Things This Week

The Ordinary Rose Hip Oil // I’ve mentioned The Ordinary products before, the Buffet serum in particular.  I love their products as they’re really great quality at a fraction of the price of most skincare products.  I’ve been using the Rose Hip Oil after washing my face, before my moisturizer, this week to help combat dry skin.  After a weekend at the beach and then an extended weekend in the mountains my skin was feeling extra dry this week!

M-61 Supersoothe Microdermabrasion Scrub // Prior to washing my face this week – I used this new M-61 facial scrub to help remove my dry, flaky skin.  My forehead was peeling from the beach, and this scrub did wonders!  My skin was left feeling so incredibly smooth!

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine // I’ve been reading this book while traveling and it has not disappointed.  It’s a quirky, fun read (while being a little dark at times).  I highly recommend it if you’re looking for an easy summer read.  I also just ordered When Life Gives You Lululemons – I’ve been seeing this book everywhere!

Have a great weekend!
