Week In Review

Week In Review March 2018 | Cobalt Chronicles | Washington, DC | Style Blogger

I know daylight savings time only adjusts the time by one hour, but sheesh, I don’t think I’ve recovered just yet.  I’m looking forward to a productive weekend at home in D.C. this weekend, but before we jump into weekend plans, let’s take a look back at the week!

Monday

On Monday I shared my week-of-half-marathon prep plus a recap of my race day!  It’s a little odd not having any running on tap for this weekend … but my body is definitely thanking me for it.  My feet took a real bruising so I’m trying to give them some time to recover before I hit the pavement again.

Monday night I took a SoulCycle class at the 14th Street studio with one of my favorite instructors, Pauline!

Tuesday

In this week’s #CobaltTravels post, I talked about how YOU can book a cheap flight to Italy!  Michael and I are heading there in April, and I can’t wait!  I received a lot of questions about this post regarding the Chase Sapphire Preferred vs. the Chase Sapphire Reserve card.  When deciding between the two, I would definitely pick the Reserve.  It offers more benefits than the Preferred and after the annual travel credit is applied, the annual fee for the Reserve is only $55 more per year, which is easily outweighed by all of the perks that the card offers!  You can compare the Sapphire Preferred and the Sapphire Reserve with other travel cards here to really see all of the perks!

Wednesday

Wednesday’s post was all about spring essentials!  I shared 5 spring essentials and included both a splurge and steal option. I’m planning on ordering a pair of the Everlane cropped jeans today for myself!

I snagged a few new workout pieces this week that I put to use Wednesday night at SoulCycle!  I shared this cropped tank and this sports bra on Instagram Stories.  Both are SO good!  I’m especially in love with the bra, and it’s only $17!  Yep, you read that right!  I also picked up this Nike tee to throw on over my sports bra after spin class or to just wear around town on the weekends.  For sizing reference, I have a Small in both the tank and bra and a XS in the Nike tee.

Thursday

On Thursday I had the opportunity to attend the #SpringReady2018 preview event at Pentagon City Mall (my favorite mall in the DMV area!).  I got a sneak peek at all of the spring trend items that a few of the retailers have in store right now.  Pentagon City Mall is hosting a Spring Ready event next Saturday, the 24th.  Here are a few details about the event …

  • You’ll learn about the season’s blooming beauty, clothing and accessory trends through fashion displays showcasing the hottest trends, pop-up makeover stations and more.
  • Beloved brands, including Nordstrom, kate spade new york, Michael Kors and Macy’s, will also offer a variety of samples to shoppers.
  • Bonus: shoppers who spend $100 or more at any Fashion Centre at Pentagon City store on March 24th will receive a fashionista cosmetic tote filled with complimentary goodies, available while supplies last at Guest Services!

I’m planning on popping by the event at some point during the morning hours on the 24th, so if you’re in the DC area, you should totally plan on stopping by too!

Weekend Plans

I’m planning on this weekend being a productive one!  I’m excited to be meeting one of my favorite DMV photographers, Michelle, to snap a few pics Saturday morning followed by working on a collaboration that’s going live here on the blog on Monday – I’ll be sharing some major throwback pics (at least on Instagram Stories) so get excited!

I’m also planning on organizing a fun week of giveaways that I’ll be doing over on Instagram.  My plan is to post a question in each Instagram caption next week and include a giveaway with each post – all you’ll have to do to enter is answer the question in the comments!  I received a ton of skincare and beauty products from a few amazing brands this week, so I thought this would be a fun way to share the wealth and a fun way to get to know my Instagram fam a bit better!  So be sure to follow along!

And that’s all I have for you today, have a great weekend!
