Week In Review

I had to really think back this week on what I did on Monday … that’s when you know it has been a slam-packed week.  It seems so long ago!  My mom and sister arrived in D.C. Wednesday evening so we’ve been bouncing around the District since then.  And we’re heading to NYC later today (Friday) for the weekend!  But before I get too far ahead of myself, let’s take a look back at the week!

Monday

On Monday, I shared my favorite workout pieces for spin class!  Y’all know spin is my workout of choice, but I’m the first to admit that walking into a spin class, especially SoulCycle, can be a bit intimidating at first.  Knowing what to wear helps calm the nerves when you’re just starting out!  If you’re a regular spinner, definitely check out the post even if only for this sports bra!

I spent Monday evening volunteering at Bright Beginnings, where I basically was at the mercy of a class of four year olds who bossed me around (in a good way) on the play ground.

Tuesday

In this week’s #CobaltChroniclesTravels post, I shared a recap of our four-day food tour in Italy!  I already want to go back to Modena to spend more time in that lovely little city!  If you haven’t checked out the post yet, pop on over – there are video recaps of each city we visited too!

Tuesday evening I squeezed in my one and only SoulCycle class for the week.  It’s hard to set aside time for a proper workout when visitors are in town!

Wednesday

On Wednesday, I shared Michael and I’s engagement story!  I’m overwhelmed by all of your kind words!  Needless to say, we are excited to really soak up this chapter.

Wednesday evening I attended a fundraiser for Bright Beginnings, popped on over to the opening party for a new co-working space in D.C., Fostr Collaborative, which two of my friends, Laura and Elizabeth just opened, and ended the night with a delicious dinner at Lupo Verde!

Thursday

As I mentioned above, my mom and sister are in DC!  We bounced around town on Thursday from Bluestone Lane for brunch to The Nail Saloon for pedicures.  We capped off the day with dinner down at The Wharf at Mi Vida, which I highly recommend if you’re looking for a great Mexican restaurant.  The food was delicious, the margaritas were on point, and the atmosphere was really great!

Weekend Plans

My mom, sister, and I are hopping on the train this morning to head up to NYC for the weekend!  We’ve been on numerous girls’ trips to the city, but they’ve always been around Christmas time.  I’m excited to show them NYC in all its warm, springtime glory!  Hoping for no rain this weekend  … Be sure to follow along on Instagram Stories!

Favorite Things

A couple of fun things to share in this week’s edition of Favorite Things!

Adidas Gazelle Sneakers // When visitors come to DC, there’s always LOTS of walking involved.  And this weekend I’ll be kicking it up a notch since I’ve not only been showing my mom and sister around D.C., we’re heading to NYC too, where we’ll be out and about all day.  These Adidas Gazelle sneakers are my favorite sneakers, and you can bet I’ll be wearing them all weekend!  Not only are they super comfortable, they’re really cute too!

Second Life Podcast // I shared my 4 favorite podcasts with you a few weeks ago, and since then, I’ve started listening to two others religiously!  One is the Second Life podcast where host Hilary Kerr, Who What Wear and MyDomaine co-founder, interviews different women who have had complete career changes at different points in their lives.

Have a great weekend!
