Week In Review

Work Tote

I may or may not be wearing this exact outfit today … So if you catch me on Instagram Stories in it, don’t judge.  😉  I can already tell it’s going to be my fall uniform.  Oversized cream sweater, embroidered mule loafers, and distressed denim (I’m having a thing with Madewell lately!).  And one more thing before moving on to the Week In Review, I’ve been carrying this steel blue bag as my work tote, and I’m obsessed.  Fossil sent it over as part of their #FossilFirsts campaign, and it is so gorgeous in person.  The leather is incredibly soft and the inside is even softer.

Onto what’s been happening this week!

Monday

On Monday I shared a collaboration with SoSis Boutique, a Louisiana based boutique that has the cutest items for fall!  They have an online shop so EVERYONE can shop!  Today is the LAST DAY to enter to win a $100 gift card to shop at SoSis so hop on over to Monday’s post to enter if you haven’t already!  The winner will be announced tomorrow (Saturday)!

Tuesday

Tuesday evening I caught up with a friend from law school that I haven’t seen in six years!  If you’re looking for a fun happy hour spot in DC, check out Jaleo!  Their sangria is some of the best around!

Wednesday

On Wednesday I shared 5 face creams that I’m loving right now!  They are all anti-aging, which I’ll take all day, every day!  Wednesday night I attended Ann Taylor’s Denim Happy Hour.  And if I’m being honest, before then, I hadn’t gone into an Ann Taylor in years … But you know what I discovered?!  They have the cutest SHOES!  One of the hosts had on these velvet mule loafers, and OMG, I have to have them!  They’re available in blush and leopard print too!

Thursday

In my Thursday Newsletter (sign up here!), I shared three easy ways that you can help with Harvey relief efforts.  Here they are again, for anyone looking to help.  Every little bit counts!

  1. Donation Match: A restaurant group here in D.C., Black Restaurant Group (Pearl Dive, Black Jack etc.), announced on Instagram that they will be matching donations made through their group up to $100,000.  Donate here.  The match programs are a great way to donate double!  Check with your company too … My 9-5 employer is matching all of our employee donations.
  2. Amazon: You can log into your account and either donate money straight from your account or you can click on See the List to see actual items that the Red Cross has requested for donation.  You can purchase the items right there and Amazon will take care of the shipping.
  3. Salvation Army: The Salvation Army is an easy way to donate.  It takes 2 minutes to do so online.

There have been so many heartwarming stories coming out of the devastation.  I shared this video from one of the shelters on my Facebook page earlier this week, the resilience of the human spirit is strong!  Praying for everyone affected by the storm.

Weekend Plans

Michael and I are heading to Boston later today for the long weekend.  It’s both of our first times to visit the city, and I’m so excited to check it out!  I’ve received SO many restaurant recommendations so I’m pretty sure we’ll just be eating our way through the city all weekend!  Be sure to follow along on Instagram as I’ll be sharing where we are staying, what we’re doing, and where we are eating!

Other Happenings

Need some help getting through this work day before the long weekend?!  Check out my friend Katie’s link love this week, so many good articles to catch up on!

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

I hope you’re enjoying Boston! Such great ways to support our fellow Americans in Texas – they will definitely need all of our help in the coming weeks and months!
