Happy First Day of Spring!  Even though the temperatures haven’t really warmed up that much in D.C., the days have certainly been longer, and I can feel that spring itch in the air where everyone just wants to get outside and soak up all of the warm weather and sunshine that’s sure to arrive soon!  That’s one thing I love about living in the district, unlike my home state of Louisiana where it has been hovering around 80 degrees since mid-February, we get to experience all four seasons here including a true spring before summer arrives!

As soon as spring arrives, I start ignoring the outside temps and dress more for the season (proof here, here, here … you get the point).  It was 30 degrees last Thursday, and I wore these shoes …

I love this See by Chloé off the shoulder top for the transitional weather because of the longer, billowy sleeves.  Not only are the bell sleeves adorable, but since they’re longer, you can definitely get away with wearing this off the shoulder top when it’s still a little cool out.  (P.S. You can rent this top via Rent the Runway for under $50!)  The best way to start mixing in a few spring tops and wedges with your look is to pair everything with dark denim as the dark hue helps to tone down any bright colors.

One other piece from this look that I’m loving is the new Kate Spade satchel.  I love the structured shape, the cognac color, and of course, the tassels!
