Good riddance summer, hello fall! It’s officially October and unofficially the kick off of holiday season. I have a halloween birthday (October 30th) so I’ve always been a sucker for spooky season and halloween decor. Having a child has upped my urge to decorate for holidays even more. I’m not ashamed to admit that our halloween decorations went up towards the beginning of September. Might as well get good use out of them, right?! Check out this post on how I made our tomato cage ghosts for halloween!
Halloween Decoration Ideas
I scoured the internet and a few stores in person to roundup halloween decor inspiration to make shopping for spooky season a little easier on you this year. After seeing all of the cute halloween decor, I’m very tempted to host a halloween themed party at my house – these wine glasses, are you kidding me? So fun!

If you’re not the DIY type, don’t worry, these yard ghosts come preassembled. I bought this skeleton and added him to our fall front door wreath. The skeleton comes in lots of different sizes and he’s posable too! I bought these light up pumpkins for our front porch last year, they’re still in perfect condition and still available at Target. I also spotted these adorable door hangers at Target too (ghost and pumpkin).
Indoor and Party Halloween Decor Inspiration
I’m not huge on decorating for halloween inside our house, but I do love these bats for a fun and festive addition to any fireplace or mantle. On the other hand, I can totally get into a halloween themed party! If you’re throwing a halloween themed party this year, this skeleton serving platter is a must! And these wine glasses too! These gold skull cocktail napkins would make a great addition to your bar.
There are so many fun candy bowl options. This gold skull. This cute spider candy bowl. And this classic witch’s cauldron are all great options.
Last but not least, these adorable dancing skeleton pillow covers. These are perfect for your living room – a touch of spooky season without being too cheesy. Here are some coordinating pillow inserts if you’re in need of those too.
