The beach is my happy place. I love being in the sun, and truth be told, I grew up not taking very good care of my skin. Anything for the tan … But oh my how times have changed! Now, I slather on the SPF 50 on my face and chest all day when I’m at the beach or by the pool!
But no matter how much sunscreen I apply, being out in the sun all day takes its toll. During my recent trip to the beach, after the very first day in the sun, I implemented my post-sun skincare routine, which I carried through the trip and into the week after I returned.
One of my hands-down favorite new products this summer has been the Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery moisturizer. I applied it throughout the day while at the beach, and post-sun, I applied it to my chest and back (two places that got too much sun!). It has SPF 50 in it so it’s perfect for moisturizing with throughout the day. Another Dermalogica product that you’ve seen me mention before is the Stress Positive Eye Lift cream. The thing that makes this product perfect for your post-sun skincare routine is the cooling, metal applicator. It feels delightful on the sun kissed skin right under your eyes!
Prior to applying any moisturizers to my face, I love using the Mario Badescu Cucumber Cleansing Lotion. The cucumber scent is really refreshing. The lotion, which is actually more like a thick liquid, leaves your skin feeling clean and soft.
The IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Cream moisturizer is so good. It’s thick and creamy and perfect for post-sun skin! I missed applying sunscreen to a thin line of skin right near where my hairline starts, so naturally it got burned and started to peel. The IT Cosmetics moisturizer helped to calm the peeling and heal it right up.
If you’ve seen any of my nighttime skincare routines on Instagram Stories, you know I LOVE the Clarins Lip Oil. I usually put it on right before bed, and it has been great for my sun (and wind) chapped lips.
Lastly, I’ve been keeping this Naples Soap Company Body Butter in the fridge to use on my back, legs, and feet just before bedtime. The cooling sensation from keeping it in the fridge feels so nice! It’s pretty thick and has a strong coconut smell. If that’s not your thing, you’re in luck – Naples has tons of other scents available as well as an unscented version too!

Hi Rosi! I just get the Honey tint. There’s no color in that one – just glossy. I love it! It’s perfect for putting on over a lip color, and I put it on every single night before bed! Hope that helps!
