It’s official, I’m a Sezane fangirl. While in Europe for a month, I shopped at two places consistently – the different grocery stores in each city and Sezane. I visited Sezane in London, Paris, and Zurich (they had a pop-up store there while we were visiting). Prior to my in-store visits, I’d been hesitant to order from Sezane as hadn’t seen any of their pieces in person and the sizing seemed confusing. Seeing the pieces beautifully curated in their stores sold me. I tried on lots of different styles since I had the opportunity to do so, and in hindsight, I wish I had tried on even more styles!

I love the cool, sophisticated, chic, but laid back Parisian style vibes of all of their pieces. Sezane is a French brand, which is helpful when deciphering their sizing. Before we jump into details about sizing, a few bits of background info that I found helpful when I began shopping at Sezane.

When to Shop

Sezane keeps its staples stocked year round (introducing new colors and patterns often). Four times a year, Sezane releases their seasonal collection and once a month they release a small capsule collection. For the smaller collections, pieces tend to sell out quickly. The best way to stay up to date on new releases is to sign up for their email newsletter.

I don’t typically jump on the new releases as I’m just not an urgent shopper, but if you see an item on Sezane’s Instagram or in a lookbook and you desperately want it, I’d recommend jumping on it as soon as it’s released.

Free Shipping & Returns

One of the things I LOVE about Sezane is that they offer free shipping (on orders over $200) AND free returns! This makes the sizing conundrum much less stressful. When you’re initial figuring out your sizing for different pieces made by the brand, I recommend ordering two sizes in pieces – with the return policy, it’s a no brainer.

One note on the free shipping aspect. Be sure not to exceed a total order amount of $800 or you may be charged an additional fee (Sezane warns you about this fee at checkout, but just take extra care to avoid it!).

Sezane Sizing

Since Sezane is a French brand, in my opinion, their pieces run true to size but lean towards running a bit small, especially in their tops, I generally size up at least one size from my typical US size. Sezane Sweaters

With that said, I wear my true size in most Sezane sweaters. Like most US brands, if Sezane offers an XXS in the piece, I’ll typically take a size XS. For example, I wear a size XS in both the Betty Cardigan and the Emile Cardigan.

Sezane Button Ups

As for Sezane button ups, arguably my favorite Sezane staple, I size up to a French size 36 or 38, which translates to a US size 4 or 6. I have size 4 in the Very Light Denim Max Shirt while I took a size 6 in the Pink and Ecru Stripe Max Shirt as I wanted a more oversized fit in this colorway and fabric (this fabric is lighter than the denim Max shirt).

Sezane Le Crop Jeans

I’m obsessed with the Le Crop jeans. For reference, I’m 5’4″ and the Le Crop jeans hit right above my ankles. I love the high waist, the fabric, and the wide fit through the lower legs. I have them in the Edge Blue wash. I’m planning on grabbing Black wash for fall and also LOVE the Pink wash for a fun addition to my closet.

I typically wear a size 2/26 in most US denim brands (with the exception of Madewell – I size down and wear a size 25 in all of their jeans). In the Le Crop, I wear French size 36, US size 4. So I’d say this style in their denim runs small. The size 4 fits me perfectly.

Sezane Shoes

I’m constantly lusting after Sezane’s shoes. I find that most, if not all, of Sezane’s shoes run true to size. I’m a true size 7 in almost all shoe brands. This has remained true for me with Sezane. I take a size 7 (EU size 38) in their shoes.

Sezane Handbags

While sizing doesn’t really factor in for handbags, I had to call out Sezane’s handbags because they’re classic, while being modern, and just so chic. The quality of the leather, suede, and craftsmanship is top tier. The Claude and the Farrow Mini are my two favorites! Swoon!

Shopping Tips
