Travel Skincare – What I Brought to DC

I’m so excited to be back in DC this week! Prior to moving, I had committed to teaching a workshop at DC Wedding Week for my Contracts for Creatives business this week. I turned the trip into an almost week-long trip and have a few other exciting meetings and events lined up for the week.

Today I wanted to share a little peek into what skincare products I travel with and what products made the trip with me to DC!

I always try to stick to my everyday skincare routine when I’m traveling, especially when I’m traveling for long stretches like I am on this trip. I’m actually flying straight from DC to Dallas for a weekend wedding! With that said, I did leave a few of my regular products at home as I didn’t want to check a bag (larger than 3 oz probs).

With that said, most of my usual morning and nighttime skincare products made the cut.

Travel Skincare Morning Routine

Dermalogica BioLumin Vitamin C Serum // After quickly cleansing my face in the AM, I apply this Dermalogica BioLumin Vitamin C Serum. I try my best to use some sort of serum and/or moisturizer with Vitamin C in it everyday as it’s supposed to help with skin tone and the brightening of skin. I like this Dermalogica serum as it goes on smooth and soaks in pretty quickly.

Beautycounter Countermatch Eye Rescue // Next up, my trusty Beautycounter under eye moisturizer. I love this product as it’s super hydrating but really lightweight – perfect for daytime wear and perfect for underneath my makeup!

Beautycounter Countermatch Lotion // I also use Beautycounter’s Countermatch Lotion as my daily moisturizer. It’s also really hydrating but not super thick. It doesn’t have SPF in it, so I always make sure to apply my sunscreen after the next step in my routine.

Osea Sea Vitamin Boost Mist // After the serum and moisturizers, I apply this Osea Sea Vitamin Boost Mist. I’ve been using this for the past few weeks in the morning and at nighttime. It’s super moisturizing and feels really nice, especially in the AM!

Supergoop Mineral Matte Sunscreen // After letting my serum, moisturizers, and mist soak in, I apply this Supergoop Mineral Matte Sunscreen. It has SPF 40 in it, and it’s tinted. The matte finish makes it perfect for layering underneath makeup. This product isn’t greasy at all and doesn’t smell like sunscreen.

Beautycounter Lip Conditioner // Last, but not least, I never leave home without my Beautycounter Lip Conditioner!

Travel Skincare Nighttime Routine

Beautycounter Cleansing Balm // At nighttime, I double cleanse. First, I use a cleanser – right now I’m using Cetaphil as Michael and I somehow have a Costco size supply at our house, but hoping to switch to something a little less drying soon. After that, I apply a few dabs of my favorite skincare product, the Beautycounter Cleansing Balm to get all of my eye makeup and leftover residue off. I love the Cleansing Balm! It’s super soft, hydrating, doesn’t strip your skin, and removes makeup so easily!

Beautycounter Plumping Oil // I always apply an oil at nighttime underneath my moisturizer. This oil really works its magic overnight and leaves my skin feeling so soft in the AM! Beautycounter has three great facial oils to choose from – the Brightening and Plumping oils are my favorite!

Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift Cream // I’m not sure if I like the actual cream better or the applicator. The applicator is metal, which acts to cool and massage your under eye area as you apply the eye cream. It feels amazing!

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream // I like this moisturizer for nighttime as it’s super thick, rich, and creamy.

Osea Sea Vitamin Boost Mist // Again, I’m obsessed with this mist. I spritz my face with the mist after applying all of my serums and moisturizers.

Beautycounter Lip Conditioner // Last but not least, I always apply a heavy helping of my Beautycounter Lip Balm before bed.

Extras

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask // I always like to pack at least one mask especially if I’m traveling for more than a couple of days. I brought the Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask with me to DC as traveling by plane always drys my skin out. The Jet Lag mask is super hydrating! I like to apply it at bedtime and sleep in it overnight!

Follain Cooling Essential Oil Blend // Another product I always throw in my travel bag is this Cooling Essential Oil roller from Follain. I love applying a few dabs of it to my wrists before crawling into my hotel room bed. There’s something really calming about the smell and the cooling sensation.

One item I wish I could bring with me, and I’m sorely missing this week … my ice roller! I’m addicted to this product as it is the most refreshing thing to put on my skin (after applying all of my serums and moisturizers) first thing in the morning!

That wraps up my skincare products that make the journey with me when I travel! I know it looks like a lot, but these are all products that are part of my everyday skincare routine, which takes me max 10 minutes each morning and night to run through.
