A few weeks ago I shared my travel essentials, but today I want to get a little more granular. Over the weekend I made a trip back home to Shreveport to celebrate Mardi Gras and when I was packing up I realized that one thing I’ve gotten down to a science (besides how to pack only a carry-on) is packing my toiletries! Today I’m sharing my travel toiletry essentials.
I have an entire section in a bathroom closet full of travel size products, but when it comes down to packing for a getaway, whether it be a short weekend trip or a long trip overseas, I always pack the same toiletry essentials. If you haven’t invested in one of these travel toiletry bags, do that first. Tip: I know the TSA rule says that you can only have one see through toiletry bag, but I always carry two with me, and I’ve never been stopped so feel free to try your luck as well! Along with the toiletry bag itself, these travel size tubes come in extremely handy – I fill these with my normal shampoo, conditioner, and body wash from home. With that said, let’s get to the good stuff.
Travel Toiletry Essentials
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Body Wash
- Face Wash (You can either use the same method of using your normal face wash from home to fill a travel tube, or Cetaphil makes a travel size that I always stock up on.)
- Travel Tooth Brush
- Travel Toothpaste
- Floss (There’s nothing more annoying than needing a piece of floss and not having any!)
- Clippers (Because you never know when these might come in handy!)
- Tweezers (Hotel bathroom lighting always shows all of those little hairs that have been hiding in my bathroom light!)
- Razor
- Shaving Cream (You could forgo this and just use body wash.)
- Makeup Remover (I use old makeup jars – like these – to make my own travel size.)
- Travel Size Deodorant (Don’t be that stinky traveler!)
- Dry Shampoo (It will save you on rushed mornings! My favorite is Living Proof!)
- Multi-Purpose Moisturizer (I prefer to bring my M-61 nighttime moisturizer because it can double as lotion for your arms, legs, and dry hands.)
Did I miss anything that’s on your essentials list?!
You always have such great travel advice! I love the idea of using an old makeup jar to create your own travel-sized container. I’m guilty of constantly getting my toiletries confiscated by TSA so this is something I’ll be trying out for sure!
haha I try to avoid the confiscation! I usually use old eye cream or face cream jars since they tend to be smaller but still hold plenty of product for a trip!
