Upcoming Travel in 2018 + Travel Inspiration for You!

Upcoming Travel in 2018 + Travel Inspiration for You | Cobalt Chronicles | Washington, DC | Travel Blogger

I really can’t believe we’re almost a full quarter into 2018.  I had a pretty light travel schedule for the first three months of the year.  My only trips have been to Park City for a ski weekend and New Orleans for a wedding.  But I’ve been busy booking trips over the last few weeks so today I thought I’d share a peek into my upcoming 2018 travels plus hopefully provide a little travel inspiration for you to book a trip or two for this spring & summer!

April

In April, Michael and I are heading to Italy! (Check out my post on how to book a cheap flight to Italy!)  We originally planned on hitting up the big cities, but we had to cut our trip down by a few days and our friends that we’re traveling with (they live in Italy) suggested that we join them for a food tour instead.  Ummm, yes please!  So we’re hitting up Sacile, Parma, Modena, and Bologna!

May

My mom and sister are coming up to DC for a couple of days in May, but we’ll be spending the majority of our time in NYC!  We’ve been to NYC together a handful of times, but they’ve never taken the Amtrak train up to the city, and we usually do more touristy things when we’re there.  I’m excited to show them more of a neighborhood look at the city this go-around!

June

I just booked a trip to Memphis and Oxford, MS for June!  For those of you that don’t know, I went to Ole Miss for undergrad.  Two of my very best friends from college live in Memphis, which is less than an hour from Oxford, so I’m planning a trip to visit them, and we’re heading to Oxford for a night too!  I can’t wait!

Although I haven’t booked it yet, I foresee a gulf coast beach trip happening sometime in June.  Both my family and Michael’s family vacation in the Florida panhandle every summer!

July

I always take advantage of the Fourth of July holiday and travel somewhere fun.  Two years ago it was Portland, Maine, last year we went on one of those beach trips I mentioned above, and this year, we’re heading to Colorado!  I’m beyond excited for this trip because I’ve never been out west during the warmer months, I’ve only been during ski season!  I’m also excited because the way the 4th falls this year, I’ll actually be out there for a good five days!  I’m really looking forward to relaxing and doing tons of outdoor activities, all in the good company of friends.

August

In August I have a quick combination trip to Atlanta and Birmingham planned.  I went to law school in Birmingham, and a few of my good friends from school live in ATL and BHM so I’ll be visiting them for a fun little long weekend!  I’ve already started making a list of my favorite restaurants in Birmingham that I can’t wait to hit up … Chez Fon Fon, Bottega, and Trattoria Centrale are all on my list!

At the end of August, I’ll be celebrating Michael’s sister’s birthday with a trip to Lake Tahoe and Napa!  I’ve never been to Tahoe, and I’ve only been to Napa once (one of my favorite trips of all time!), so I’m super excited for this one!

Those are all of the trips I have on the books so far this year, but I’m sure there will be a few more to come!  Is there anywhere that you’re looking forward to traveling over the next few months?!  Feel free to share in the comments below – I’m always looking for new places to travel!

GIRL! YOU ARE BUSY! Love it and can’t wait to follow along!
In a few weeks, I’m heading to Seattle. I know I want to plan another US trip sometime within the next few months, and then in September I’ll be in Vermont for a wedding, and then HOPEFULLY going to Switzerland in October!

Seattle is awesome! You’re going to love it!! And I bet Vermont is beautiful in the fall! I’ve been to Switzerland once, years ago, and I still remember it being one of the most fairytale-like cities I’ve ever visited! Can’t wait to see all of your pics!
