Week In Review

Week In Review Cobalt Chronicles | Houston Lifestyle Blogger
A 2nd Cup

After traveling last week and being out of town last weekend, I was super excited to stay put in Houston this week. I spent most of my week catching up on work, getting workouts in, and cooking dinner at home. I’m heading to San Fransisco on Monday for the majority of the week so I really tried to focus on my to-do list this week as it’s a lot tougher to plug away work hours while on the road. Let’s jump into this week’s Week In Review!

Monday

On Monday I shared my April Amazon Favorites. This ice roller made my Amazon Favorites list two months in a row, and I’ve been raving about it on Instagram Stories too. It supposedly helps with de-puffing and lymphatic drainage in your face. I think it does help with that, but more than that, it feels so NICE and is so SOOTHING. The roller itself is only $12, which to me, the feel good factor alone is worth. I use it in the mornings after applying my serum and daily moisturizer. If you’ve tried an ice roller out, let me know your thoughts in the comment section! Are you as obsessed as I am?!

In the spirit of getting back to my routine on Monday, I scheduled my never-miss Monday SoulCycle class. And speaking of SoulCycle, they’re having their twice-a-year BIG SALE this week (it ends on May 5th). I scored a pair of lululemon pants, a sports bra, and a sweatshirt all for under $150! Check out the sale here and use code BIGSALE15 for 15% EXTRA off your purchase!

Tuesday

On Tuesday I shared a post about summer travel plans. I’m excited to have a handful of fun trips on the books and hope to book a few more soon!

After working from home all day on Tuesday, I finally got out of the house for an evening session of hot yoga at YogaWorks. Still loving the Hot Sonic 60 class! YogaWorks has studios around the country, so if you’re interested in trying it out, check out their site to see if there’s one near you!

Wednesday

On Wednesday I shared an April Recap post including house updates, wellness updates, most read blog posts, most clicked items and more!

I made plans to meet a friend for lunch on Wednesday, which I’ve come to quickly learn is necessary when working from home, alone, for the majority of the week. It was especially nice because Michael was out of town at the beginning of the week too. By Wednesday, I was in need of some human interaction! HA. We went to a local Houston favorite, Local Foods. I’ve been a couple of times now – the Asian Chicken Salad is hands down my favorite thing I’ve tried!

Wednesday evening I met with Lauren to shoot some photos for the blog and Instagram. It was my first time shooting with someone in Houston, which was so much fun! While Michael takes a lot of my photos, it’s always nice to be able to knock out photos during the week so that we don’t have to spend our weekends worrying about it. I’m excited to share the photos with you as they turned out great!

Thursday

On Thursday I met up with a friend of a friend who’s also a DC transplant to Houston. Lindsey owns Mostess, a company that sends seasonally curated home decor and hosting items in a beautiful box four times a year. Check out her website – she does such a great job sourcing products for her boxes!

I ended the day with a SoulCycle ride – a Beyonce theme ride, nonetheless.

Weekend Plans

Michael has been traveling a lot for work over the past two weeks and just got back in town, so we’re planning on laying low tonight – perhaps a date to hot yoga, takeout, and a movie! If the rain holds off on Saturday, we’re hoping to attend a crawfish boil and post up to watch the Derby somewhere. Other than that, no big plans! We’re both heading to San Francisco on Monday so I’ll be gearing up for that over the weekend as well.

Favorite Things This Week

Podcasts // Since I work from home the majority of the time, I binge a lot of podcasts. I like to have something playing in the background while I work. This week I’ve been loving Influencer Business by Trove, Bad On Paper, and Fohr Ground. Influencer Business and Fohr Ground are definitely geared towards the blogging industry, but Bad On Paper is a fun listen for anyone (probably more like any female).

Breeze Sweater // I’ve been wearing this sweater on repeat. It’s perfect over a cami during the day and with a bralette for dinner on the weekends. I paired it with my favorite Levi’s for a coffee date this week. It runs really big, so I’d recommend sizing down. I have a XXS for reference.

Queer Eye // I know I’m late to the game on this Netflix find, but Michael and I have been working our way through all three seasons of this TV reboot, and oh my goodness! This show is the BEST. It’s such a fun, uplifting, refreshing show and a great way to end the day each day! If you’re like me and late to this party, do yourself a favor and start binging this show TONIGHT!

Have a great weekend!

It’s totally worth the $12! And with Amazon Prime, you have it in 2 days! You should totally get one. 😉
