Coming at you from the road again this week!  If you missed the last few weeks, we’ve had a Portland Edition, NYC Edition, and Lake Tahoe Edition Week In Review post!  September has been a super heavy travel month!  I spent the majority of my week this week in The Bahamas with my mom planning Michael and I’s wedding!  More on that below!  Let’s jump right into this week’s Week In Review!

Monday

If you missed this post, you may have missed the fact that Michael and I are getting married in The Bahamas!  I flew to New Orleans to meet my mom on Sunday night to then fly to The Bahamas early Monday morning (flying to New Orleans will make more sense when you see what I’m up to this weekend!).  Upon arrival at the resort, we had about half a day to explore on our own (no meetings scheduled that day).  Unfortunately, it rained most of the afternoon, so we ended up hanging in the hotel room and getting some work done while watching the rain fall outside.

Here on the blog, I shared the three tools I use to organize my day-to-day schedule.

Tuesday

Tuesday was a day full of meetings in The Bahamas.  My mom and I met with the venue representatives, did a tasting of most of the wedding festivity food, and did a walk through of all of the locations on the resort where wedding-related events are being held.  Later that evening, we visited the wedding band during one of their rehearsals.  If you saw my Instagram Stories afterwards, you saw how overcome both my mom and I were!  The band was beyond kind, gracious, and OMG, were they talented.  As if the resort didn’t get me excited enough for the big day, the band definitely did!

Wednesday

Wednesday involved another half-day of meetings.  We met with the event planner, who is coordinating all of the flowers, the band, the ceremony music, the decor etc.  It was really neat to see everything coming together!

Here on the blog I switched gears a bit from The Bahamas and posted about the button-front dress you need for fall!  I actually wore the dress to meetings one day in The Bahamas.  The dress easily transitions from warmer weather to the fall season because of the color!

Thursday

My mom and I flew back to New Orleans on Thursday.  We had the best time on our little getaway, and it made the upcoming wedding feel so much more real!  I’m so thankful to our parents for being all in on Michael and I’s wishes to do a destination wedding!  The week made me so incredibly excited for January!

Michael also flew into New Orleans on Thursday where his mom picked us all up.  We headed to Baton Rouge (where Michael’s parents live).  We’re in town for our house-divided game weekend … LSU vs. Ole Miss!   Ole Miss (my alma mater) is never supposed to win against LSU, so it’s always a fun weekend for me.  Either we lose like we’re supposed to or, every once in a while, we surprise everyone by pulling out a win!  Regardless, the weekend is always a fun one!  Ever since leaving my home state of Louisiana for college at Ole Miss, the LSU/Ole Miss weekend is always the weekend where two of my worlds collide.

Weekend Plans

I’ll be hitting up all of my favorite Baton Rouge spots this weekend before the late kickoff on Saturday night.  I’m excited for a weekend full of family and friends!

Favorite Things This Week

Statement Earrings // It was still pretty warm in The Bahamas (as it always is), so I wore my hair up in a low bun for most of the week.  Adding a fun statement earring each day was a great way to make it look like I didn’t just finish up at the gym or roll out of bed!  A few of my favorites: these Kendra Scott raffia tassels (sold out in my white color), this gold feather Stella & Dot pair that my mom had in her arsenal, and these medallions (also Kendra Scott).

Travel Sleep Machine // The white-noise apps don’t cut it for me.  I love traveling with my mini sleep machine!  It has come in extremely handy this week since I’ve stayed in three different spots since leaving DC last Sunday.  You can either charge it or leave it plugged in all night (that’s what I do).  It’s really small, no bigger than the palm of your hand, so it’s easy and light to pack!

Travel Toiletry Bags //  I have two of these travel toiletry bags that go everywhere with me.  I know the TSA rule is that you’re only supposed to travel with one, but I’ve always traveled with two, and it has never been a problem.  I put one in my purse and one in my rolling carry-on bag.  They fit a lot, they’re perfectly compact, and they’re easy to clean!
