Week In Review – Houston Edition

Week In Review | Cobalt Chronicles | Washington DC | Style Blogger

Happy Friday, from Houston! If you missed Monday’s post, Michael and I are in Houston house hunting this week! We’re actually likely in the air flying back to DC as you’re reading this post. Definitely check out Monday’s post if you missed it to read all about the when and why we’re making the move to Houston!

Monday

Monday was a super productive day! Michael flew out to Houston for work, and I stayed behind in DC and got so much work done. It was nice to have somewhat of a routine day at home before heading out again. I spent most of the day at Philz Coffee in Dupont working and capped off the day at SoulCycle.

I shared a few of my favorite clean beauty products, all Beautycounter products, on Instagram Stories and loved hearing your feedback on your favorite Beautycounter products! I shared my love for the Countermatch Eye Rescue Cream, the Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion, and the Daily Shampoo. All of the products are amazing! If I had to pick one to recommend you get your hands on immediately, it would be the shampoo! It’s sulfate free and it WORKS. Unlike other sulfate-free shampoos I’ve tried, the Daily Shampoo actually suds up! It cleans my hair and smells amazing!

Tuesday

On Tuesday I shared a new travel related credit card post! If you own your own small business, even if it’s on the side, you’ll definitely want to take a look at the post – I shared the BEST two small business credit cards. I have them both and they both offer great ways to earn points and miles on all of my business expenses so that I can travel for free!

I flew to Houston early Tuesday morning to meet Michael. My goal for the week was to find us a place to live in the city! I spent most of the week bouncing between property showings and posting up at local coffee shops. I’m so thankful for all of you who sent me recommendations on places to go, neighborhoods to visit, lunch spots, and dinner gems! Y’all are the best!

Wednesday

On Wednesday I shared another update on my experience with microblading and how I prepped my eyebrows for my wedding day! If you’re in the DMV area and are interested in microblading, I can’t recommend Dollistic enough! Check out the post to see how you can get 20% off your first visit!

Wednesday was a marathon of house viewing. I was in the car almost the entire day bebopping between neighborhoods trying to find a place to rent in Houston.

Thursday

Thursday was bit of the same. I only saw one house on Thursday, but it was a good one! Michael and I ended up choosing the last house I visited! We didn’t make a final decision until around dinnertime. It was such a relief! Now that we’re settled on what neighborhood we’ll be in and I can picture what house we’ll be living in when we officially make the move in March, I’m getting excited about the new adventure!

Weekend Plans

We’re flying back to DC on Friday, and I plan on having a low key evening. I signed up for a 6pm yoga class at YogaWorks if that gives you any indication of how low key I plan on being. We have plans to check off a bucket list restaurant in DC on Saturday night. Thanks to a couple of generous secret Santa gift cards, we’re visiting Pineapple & Pearls, which I am beyond excited about!

Favorite Things This Week

Territory Meal Delivery // If you follow along on Instagram, you’ve likely seen me post on Stories about Territory meal deliveries. I’m obsessed with their delicious and nutritious ready to eat meals! They’re great to have on hand during the week, especially when Michael and I are both working from home – they make lunchtime so simple! I was thinking ahead this week and placed an order to arrive right when Michael and arrive back from Houston. I knew I wouldn’t have time to immediately go to the grocery store. It’s so nice to have healthy meals at our doorstep when we arrive back to DC! If you’re interested in trying the meals out, use code COBALT for $50 off across your first two orders!

Away Bigger Carry On Bag // I feel like I’ve been on the road (or in the air) since Thanksgiving. TheĀ Away Bigger Carry On Bag is always by my side! If you’re in the market for new luggage, definitely check out my posts on my Away luggage (here, here, here). I’m obsessed, and I’ve converted all of my friends and family too! It’s the best!

Have a great weekend!
