Happy Friday! I hope you had a nice week! My week was pretty great, and not for any specific reason, mostly because I didn’t feel like I was in a quarantine/pandemic induced funk this week. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Michael and I are heading out of town this weekend to my hometown – Shreveport. I’m so excited for a change of scenery for a few days! Whatever this week brought you, hopefully you’re excited that today’s Friday and looking forward to a relaxing weekend ahead.
This Week’s Blog Posts
Maelove Vitamin C Serum vs. Beautycounter All Bright C Serum // The intrigue around vitamin c in skincare products is one of the most frequently asked about topics in my DMs. I enjoyed putting this post together explaining what exactly the benefits are of using a vitamin c serum in your skincare routine and comparing two vitamin c serum products that I’ve been using over the past year. Check out the post if you haven’t already!
12 Things I’m Packing for the Beach // I’m really looking forward to my family’s upcoming annual beach trip and crossing my fingers it’s still going to happen. I rounded up 12 items I’m planning on packing! All of the items are perfect for any summer getaway, even if the getaway is your own backyard!
This week’s workouts …
For workouts this week, I did at-home Orangetheory on Monday and Wednesday, and yoga via this YouTube channel on Thursday. Michael’s been doing yoga classes through Adriene’s YouTube channel for a few weeks so I decided to check it out this week. I really enjoyed it! Both Orangetheory and yoga with Adriene are free!
I’m planning on getting in a long walk in Shreveport today and on Saturday too!
I saved up podcasts this week for our drive to Shreveport this morning. On the playlist …

My Favorite Things this Week
Easy Amazon Dress // I have this dress in two colors – navy and black. I’ve had both for a couple of years. They’re great for summertime and fall! Lightweight enough for summer, and I add a suede jacket and OTK boots for fall. Seen wearing here. Styled for fall here and here. The dress is a steal at only $28.
Olive & June Nail Polish + Polish Remover // Olive & June is a new-to-me clean nail care brand. Their polishes are free from harmful chemicals and their polish remover is acetone free. I ordered a few polishes and the polish remover a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been loving the polish and the remover is AMAZING! Highly recommend!
Beautycounter Daily Sheer Defense SPF // Beautycounter launched a new everyday, face specific sunscreen! I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now, and I’m really loving it! It’s lightweight, goes on clear, and not greasy at all. Perfect for applying after morning skincare and before makeup!
Have a nice weekend!
