Week In Review | Lake Tahoe Edition

Cobalt Chronicles | Week In Review | Lake Tahoe | Washington, DC | Style Blogger

This week was a full one!  With the Labor Day holiday weekend, Michael and I packed up and hit the road (air) on Thursday morning so I had to squeeze a week’s worth of work into three days.  Let’s take a look at this week’s week in review!

Monday

On Monday I shared my recent shopping experience at Congressional Plaza, a shopping center right outside of DC that’s recently been renovated to include shops like Saks Off Fifth, Loft, Ulta, and Neiman Marcus Last Call.  I’m hosting a giveaway with Congressional Plaza over on Instagram.  Head to this post to enter to win a $50 American Express gift card!  The giveaway ends September 1st at midnight EST so hop on over there and enter!

I hit up an early SoulCycle class at the West End studio (my first time at that studio!) to end the afternoon.  Two of our dear friends here in DC moved to Seattle this week so we celebrated with them at Service Bar on Monday night.  I see another Seattle trip on the horizon!

Tuesday

I mentioned in this post that I was trying out solidcore.  Well, it’s official, I’m hooked.  I’ve been loving incorporating solidcore into my workout routine.  It’s so different from SoulCycle and works muscles I never even knew I had.  I went to an early morning class on Tuesday.

Here on the blog I shared a new #TravelTuesday post and talked all about Chase Ultimate Reward travel partners.

On Tuesday night I headed over to Fostr Collaborative for an event hosted by District Bliss.  The highlight of the night was the macaroons from Cakes by Marium!  Holy moly, they were delicious!

Wednesday

On Wednesday I shared a wedding related blog post!  I shared our wedding invitations and how I went about designing them.  I’m all about stress free wedding planning, and the invitation design process was no exception!  The design process was so simple and involved a lot less moving parts than I first imagined.

Wednesday was a jam-packed work from home day as I was trying to wrap up a few big projects before heading out of town.  It also took me FOREVER to pack for this trip because the temperature swings in California are no joke, y’all!  It’s in the 30s at night here in Lake Tahoe, but we’re traveling to Napa on Saturday where the high is 85!

I ended the day at SoulCycle with a much needed sweat session.

Thursday

I knew I’d be eating all the food and drinking all the wine this weekend so I made it to SoulCycle Thursday morning before Michael and I headed to the airport.  We had a full day of travel … we trained from DC to BWI Airport to hop on a direct flight to Sacramento.  We then picked up a car at the airport and drove to South Lake Tahoe, which is about a two hour drive.  We just caught the tail end of the sunset (pictured above).  The long travel day was totally worth it!

Weekend Plans

Michael and I are in Lake Tahoe with Michael’s family all day Friday and Friday night.  We’re heading to Napa early Saturday morning for a couple of days of vineyard hoping and wine tasting.  It’s been a while since I’ve been to Napa, so I’m super excited to be visiting again!  Be sure to follow along on Instagram Stories as I’ll be sharing lots there through the weekend!

Favorite Things This Week

Urban Outfitters Jumpsuit //

I’m planning on shooting this jumpsuit while in California this weekend, but before I can even get a photo up on Instagram, you NEED to snag this adorable jumpsuit!  I’m obsessed.  It’s perfect for fall, especially in warmer climates.  It’s so comfortable, cute, and flattering.  And it has pockets.  What more could you want?!  For sizing reference, I have an XS.  It’s a bit oversized so I’d say either stay true to your normal size or size down.

Amazon Waffle Turtleneck Sweater //

Another find this week!  I was skeptical about how this sweater would look in-person (as compared to how it looks online), but it exceeded my expectations!  The quality is top notch.  It’s perfectly oversized without looking like a bag.  And it’s light enough to wear in the fall months and then layer with a jacket this winter.  The best part, it’s only $30!  I snagged a size small.  It runs true to size.

The Sephora Sale //

If you subscribe to my newsletter, you received an email from me on Thursday alerting you to the Sephora sale that’s happening now through Monday.  It’s not often that beauty and skincare products go on sale, so this is the perfect time to stock up!
