Thank you to the Kimpton Hotel Fontenot for providing a complimentary room for our stay.
The Kimpton Hotel Fontenot is a new hotel located in downtown New Orleans. When Hotel Fontenot invited me to check out the property, I was all in! Michael and I stayed at a Kimpton property in Boston, Kimpton Nine Zero, a few years back and LOVED it. I’m partial to Kimpton’s boutique hotel design, nightly complimentary wine hour, and on-site restaurant and bar offerings.
I’m excited to share my Kimpton Hotel Fontenot review with you!
Where is Hotel Fontenot Located?
The first thing you’re likely wondering is where is Hotel Fontenot located? This is one of the BEST things about Hotel Fontenot. It’s situated in the perfect spot for visiting NOLA. It’s located within walking distance to the French Quarter and Bourbon Street without being IN the Quarter. With that said, it’s quieter than most of the New Orleans hotels that you often see recommend. It’s also in walking distance to the Aquarium of the Americas, Harrah’s Casino, the Warehouse District, and tons of amazing and famed New Orleans restaurants.
Upon arrival at Hotel Fontenot, you’re greeted by the chicest lobby (seen above).
Hotel Fontenot Rooms
Hotel Fontenot has 202 rooms, including an array of suites. The decor in every room is impeccable. Although we didn’t spend much time in our room when we were there, it’s a space I would definitely love to hole up in for a couple of nights! I love the cane bed frame, the bright colors, and the spacious bathroom!
On-Site Dining
The lobby gives way to both Gospel Coffee and Boozy Treats where you can grab local pastries and coffee in the morning and boozy treats in the afternoon and its restaurant and bar, Peacock Room. I had a croissant and iced coffee from Gospel, which both hit the spot!
Peacock Room is a gem! I recommend grabbing a cocktail or glass of wine in the lounge and following that up with dinner in the dining room. Peacock Room is not only frequented by tourists, it’s a hot spot for locals too! That’s how you know it’s legit. 😉
The lounge has a cozy yet chic vibe about it. It’s also super spacious, especially for New Orleans. The perfect spot to hide out on date night or gather with a large group of friends before or after dinner!
We were treated to an amazing meal at Peacock Room. My recommendations, to start, try out the Peacock Snack Mix and Blue Crab Pimento Cheese. For the main dish, I recommend the Chicken & Eggplant Fricasse. And you MUST try the Twice Baked Bread Pudding for dessert.
If you’re looking for a beautifully designed, conveniently located hotel with top notch on-site dining options for your next visit to New Orleans, the Kimpton Hotel Fontenot is your spot!
Hope you enjoyed my Kimpton Hotel Fontenot review! Laissez les bons temps rouler!
