Rosemary Beach Travel Guide for Couples

With spring break and summer vacation planning right around the corner, I wanted to share a travel guide for one of my favorite places to visit – a Rosemary Beach Travel Guide for Couples!

Rosemary Beach is one of my absolute favorite places to visit, I even had my bachelorette party there. And funny enough, my Rosemary Beach bachelorette blog post is consistently one of my most visited posts! While that post focuses on a girls’ trip to Rosemary Beach, today I’m sharing a travel guide for couples! It’s one of Michael and I’s favorite spots to visit together.

As a little background on why I love Rosemary Beach, I grew up going to the Florida Gulf Coast with my family. Out of all the places I’ve traveled all over the world, the Florida panhandle holds a special place in my heart. I especially love the small towns of Seaside, Grayton, Alys Beach, Seacrest, and Rosemary.

Getting There

Rosemary Beach is located in the panhandle of Florida. It’s roughly a 4 hour drive from New Orleans, a 5 hour drive from Birmingham, a two-hop flight from DC (Houston to PNS via Southwest) , and a direct shot from Houston (to VPS via United). If you’re flying, there are a few options. There are three airports nearby … Destin-Fort Walton airport (VPS), Pensacola airport (PNS), and Panama City Beach airport (ECP). Panama City is the closest airport. It’s only a 20 minute Lyft/Uber/Taxi ride from the airport to Rosemary.

While you can catch a Lyft/Uber/Taxi from the airports to Rosemary, I’d recommend renting a car for your stay. Not that you’ll need it that often once you’re in Rosemary, but it makes running to the grocery and getting to and from the airport so much easier. Also, there are a number of equally adorable beach towns strung together close by like Seaside, Grayton, Alys Beach, Seacrest that are all worth checking out!

Where to Stay

Hotels are a bit hard to come by in Rosemary. I recommend either staying at The Pearl if you’re looking for an upscale place to stay or check out VRBO or Airbnb options. There are tons of Airbnb/VRBO options in Rosemary Beach that are either right on the beach or across the street from the beach.

The Pearl is a gorgeous hotel situated right in the heart of Rosemary. It offers all of the amenities of a top notch hotel. There’s a beautiful pool, a spa, and complimentary beach chairs and beach umbrella set up on The Pearl’s private stretch of beach. There’s also a delicious restaurant on site and a lively bar worth posting up at attached to the lobby.

Where to Eat

If you’re staying in an Airbnb or VRBO property, it’s likely worth hitting up a grocery store to stock up on beverages and snacks for your trip. Michael and I like to hit up local coffee shops in the morning and usually make sandwiches for lunch so we can maximize our beach time! With that said, there’s no shortage of delicious restaurants to check out while you’re in visiting Rosemary Beach!

Breakfast // Seacrest Sundries Market & Cafe (iced coffee!), Black Bear Bread Co., Donut Hole

Lunch // The Hub, Crabby Steves, Cowgirl Kitchen

Dinner // Shunk Gulley’s, The Hub, Havana Beach Bar & Grill, George’s at Alys Beach, Pescado Seafood Grill & Rooftop Bar, La Crema, Bud & Alley’s

Cocktails // NEAT Tasting Room & Bottle Shop, Havana Beach Bar & Grill, Pescado Seafood Grill & Rooftop Bar, Bud & Alley’s

What to Do

The beauty of a trip to Rosemary Beach is that you don’t have to make plans outside of hanging out at the beach! One thing outside of the beach that Michael and I enjoy doing is renting bikes and biking along the paths that connect all of the neighboring beach towns! There’s a huge bike rental shop right in the Rosemary Beach town center. If you’re looking for a relaxing morning or afternoon, check out the spa at The Pearl hotel!
