Happy Friday! How are you? It’s a lot of the same on my end. Even though Texas (and Houston) are technically in phase 1 of reopening, I haven’t ventured out anywhere since my grocery outing last week. It’s supposed to be icky and rainy all weekend here in Houston. While I’d definitely prefer a day or two of sun, we’ve been pretty lucky with weather lately, so I might just chalk this weekend up as a relaxing, indoor, movie watching weekend.

Weekly Workouts

Before I share my workouts from this week, I wanted to briefly touch on a DM I received on Instagram. I had a question from a reader asking if I was seeing any results from Orangetheory. The short answer – no? But I never expected to.

I think it’s important to remember that we’re all doing our best during this unprecedented time. While Michael and I try to get in a workout every weekday, I’m not expecting my at-home workout in my dining room with 5 lb weights that I happened to have pre-quarantine to drastically have an impact on how I look or show any type of results.

The daily workouts make me feel good both mentally and physically, so I’d call that a winning result during a pandemic. Just a friendly reminder to show ourselves a little grace during this new-ish normal. I commend you for getting your body moving even if it’s just for a walk around the block or maybe a walk around your house if that’s all you’ve got in you today.

This week’s workouts …

This week, Michael and I did Orangetheory workouts Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. They’re free and viewable on YouTube. We’ve been doing Orangetheory almost every weekday. We finish each workout with a quick run around the block! Pro tip: Use the “K” key to fast forward through all of the talking – it cuts about 10 minutes off of the workout time!

Fridays have become our yoga days. Michael and I are streaming a yoga class from the studio we attend here in Houston, Yoga Works. You can check out the schedule here: https://www.yogaworks.com/classes/live/

I’m hoping I can squeeze in a long walk or two in between the rain this weekend! Fingers crossed.
