Beach Essentials for Toddlers

We just got back from a week at the beach. Weldon LOVES the beach, which makes me oh so happy since Michael and I both cherish our beach trips. At this point, we’ve taken almost ten beach trips with Weldon. I’ve gotten our toddler beach essentials down to a science! I’m sharing everything you need to make your beach trip with your toddlers easier on you and fun for them!

Beach Essentials for Toddlers

Towel Cover Up / The BEST after beach (and pool) cover up! I like to change W out of his swimsuit after a day at the beach and into this cover up prior to walking through the resort and up to our room so he’s warm and dry. It’s perfect to bring to the pool too! The quality of this cover up is the best I’ve found (I’ve tried 3 others).

Beach Toy Set / A must for any beach trip! The scoops, shovels, and molds keep W occupied for hours!

Collapsable Beach Buckets / Great for packing!

Cute Affordable Toddler Swim Trunks / Weldon has four pairs of these! The flamingo pair is too cute! (Tip: I cut the mesh lining out – it tends to rub on W’s legs.)

Rash Guard / These are GREAT for sun protection and only $12! Available in lots of colors! Cute girl options too! This fun sunshine print, love the lemons!

Rubber Sandals / The sand washes right off! And the straps are velcro which makes putting them on (and taking them off) a breeze!

Sun Hat with Flaps / The best sun protection hat! I purchase these every spring/summer in the next size up.

Portable High Chair / This portable high chair is the BEST for meals in the condo and at the beach! It’s super compact and pops up so easily. It’s also easy to clean!

Lightweight Beach Bag with Pockets / I have this bag in two colors. It’s the perfect no fuss beach bag. I LOVE that it has three large pockets! Perfect for storing my phone, sunglasses, and other small items.

Beach Wagon / A must have to carry all of your beach items from your room to the beach. You can use the wagon to carry your toddler to and from the beach too!

Toddler Sunglasses / I always have a pair of these on hand. They fit great and stay on little faces perfectly. W now requests them often!

Mineral Sunscreen / The best (and safest) baby sunscreen I’ve found. It’s mineral based (no harmful chemicals) and it rubs in pretty easily. We also have the stick version for quick face re-application.

Bonus Essentials

+ Toy Trucks / These were a HIT this year! Do yourself a favor and snag these ASAP!

+ Bubble Gun / This bubble gun was also a hit, however, beware that it’s not super sand/water friendly.

+ Easy Pop Up Tent / A must have if your resort doesn’t offer umbrella service. We have this tent and it’s great.

+ Lightweight Waterproof Blanket / Lay this out underneath your umbrella or tent for a shaded place to play! We use this blanket on every beach trip, at the park, at festivals, you name it!

+ Mini Swimming Pool / Another beach essential for toddlers! We pop up a mini swimming pool on our waterproof blanket every day. Another way to keep the children entertained (and cool) all day.

+ Collapsable Structured Bag / This bag comes in really handy in the beach wagon. It’s an easy way to keep everything organized. It has three pockets, including one zipper pocket. I like to keep our towels and snacks in this bag.
